InsideOut at Browns Bridge Church

One of the ways that God has allowed Van to give back a little bit of what He has shown him is by being a Small Group leader for the High School ministry where he and his family worship, Browns Bridge Community church.

When his wife Wendy and Van heard the message from Pastor Andy Stanley about volunteering in different ministry areas, they both jumped in feet first. Having studied Youth and Family Ministry at Columbia Bible College, Van was really psyched about getting a chance to start pouring in to the lives of a group of young men. It is no small commitment. The expectation is to walk with your group their entire 4 years of high school. They meet regularly on Sunday nights in The Attic at Browns Bridge, in addition to hanging out during the week. The reward far out weighs the sacrifice though.

Van was assigned a group of incoming freshman guys that initially numbered around 5 or 6. In about 2 months their “small group” had over 20 guys from various high schools in the Forsyth county area. Van considers it an honor and a privilege to come along side these young men at such a critical time in their lives. The vision that InsideOut ministry has regarding how to reach the students of Forsyth County is exciting and Van and his family are in love with the people and the ministry there.
